Who Else Wants Rocking Bassinet Furniture?

It is always a romantic notion to place a baby on a rocking bassinet while you read a bedtime story. However, with this kind of furniture, there are may be some unromantic notions to deal with. For one thing, a permanently rocking bassinet will make it harder for you to place the baby there safely or scoop up the baby in your arms. There are also some little ones who get motion sickness from the constant movement or asthma-like attacks from the bedding. So if you really want this furniture in your kid’s nursery, here are some tips on how to get a really great piece.

1. Choose the convertible rather than the permanent rocking model. A convertible bassinet bed would be the one which allows the bed to remain in an upright and sturdy position when you want it to be. This will make it easier for everyone (including the baby) when it comes to getting the child in or out of the bed.

2. Test the rocker first as to how much it can really swing in each direction. The standard rule is: the less distance each swing arcs, the better it is for the baby. If the rocker really flies off in all directions, the kid in the cradle will probably suffer from motion sickness. Remember, your little one needs gentle rocking. If you think he or she is prepared for more, buy him or her a swing set later on.
